The ARTISTE 2025 chairpersons, Prof. Beppe Marano, Prof. D. Asprone, Prof. X. Lu, and Prof. N. D. Lagaros, are happy to announce the activation of an official Journal special issue/special collection dedicated to the ARTISTE 2025 Conference and, in general, devoted to the research themes of Artificial Intelligence in Structural Engineering. Therefore, the chairpersons encourage conference authors – and also those who did not attend the conference – to consider sending a full paper to Data-Centric Engineering (Cambridge University Press) as part of this ongoing special collection.
DCE Journal Key Publishing Information:
- 2024 Impact Factor: 2.8; 2024 CiteScore: 4.4 – SJR 2024 : Q1
- Peer-reviewed open-access journal not centred on article processing charges since publication costs for the vast majority of articles are covered by Transformative Agreements that Cambridge University Press (CUP) holds with institutions worldwide, i.e. if the corresponding author is affiliated with an institution with an agreement there is no article processing charge.
- Authors not affiliated with these agreements who have grants that budget for open access publication are encouraged to pay an article processing charge (APC).
- In addition, Cambridge University Press receives a grant from the Lloyd’s Register Foundation(opens in a new tab) for Data-Centric Engineering, which in part helps cover the publishing costs of authors who have no access to funding or open access agreements. All authors can therefore submit to DCE in the knowledge that there is no hard financial barrier to publication.
Timetable:
Final deadline for submitting papers to DCE is 1st September 2026.
How to Submit:
Key considerations for submitting are reported here, with full details available in the DCE Instructions for Authors.
Articles submitted to DCE are expected to be longer than 10 pages, the maximum length for ARTISTE Conference proceedings published in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering, and therefore at least 30% different from the Conference version.
Article types:
- Research articles
- Translational papers
- Data papers
- Survey papers
- Tutorial reviews
